2009 NSBRA FINALS

2009 NSBRA FINALS will be held this year on August 29th and 30th at the Pauline Davis Pavilion, in Red Bluff CA. This is exciting news. The points cut-off date and the 8 NSBRA race requirement will be August 23rd.
This year NSBRA will have another raffle. Tickets will be $5.00. There will be two drawings, the First drawing will be for a 42 inch flat screen TV. The Second drawing will be for a video camera. Drawings will be held at the 2009 NSBRA Finals. You do not need to be in attendance to receive your prize if your name is drawn. All NSBRA members will receive 10 tickets to sell. If you are going to attend the 2009 NSBRA Finals you will be required to sell these tickets. Tickets will be mailed out to our membership, if you have not received your tickets to sell, please contact me - Laura Vannoy 530-228-6511

Publicity Director Position Filled

At our last meeting, Board of Director's nominations were voted and approved. However, a Publicity Director was still needed. As of June 24th this position has been filled by Julie Tumino. Your new Directors for the Competition Year 2009/2010 will be:

FRONTIER FEED AND SADDLERY, Inc, at 5544 Deschutes Rd., Anderson CA. is owned by Jeff Peery and his older sister Genea Peery. Genea and Jeff were both born and raised in Shasta County in Cottonwood. Jeff started working at Frontier Feed when he was a junior in high school. He continued work there thru high school and all thru college. Once the topic of the previous owners wanting to retire came up, he put a lot of thought into going into business for himself. He knew a lot about what went on for the store and what it took to run it and keep it going. Genea worked for AAA Insurance for 12 years. When Jeff started thinking about buying the business, Genea got interested in it and thought it would be a good change in her life. They purchased the business in March of 2008 together, looking forward to a new lifestyle.
After they purchased the business, they took over what the previous owners started, with their sponsorships for the NSBRA. After it was all over for the year, they realized it was a lot of work but enjoyed helping as much as they could for the season last year. This is their second year as a sponsor and always looking forward to helping out and attending the finals.
Their store provides an array of items. Some of the top line brands they carry are Martin, Cactus, Windmill, Classic, Mayatex, Buckaroo Leather, Toklat, Myler and Big D. Along with the tack they have a selection of Boulet Boots and western blouses and shirts for men and women and hats by Bailey. The feed they carry is Farmers Best and for the horses they make the LMF line of feed. The hay they carry, comes out of McArthur. They have grass, alfalfa/grass and alfalfa. For the kids they have a whole section filled with just Breyers, every horse you can think of. There are so many other items, jewelry, spurs, bits, headstalls, the list goes on. There are so many items that it is hard to catch everything to a list. If there is anything that a person is looking for and can't find, please call and ask if they have it or can get it for you. Both Jeff and Genea will provide outstanding services, and they also do special orders.
NSBRA, can't express enough our appreciation for their generosity and professionalism that they have extended. Both Jeff and Genea will be at our finals this year. For those of you that do not know, they sponsor one saddle to our association, and create our gift bags for all of our contestants. In this economy it is very much appreciated.
